Help with Searching RADAR
RADAR has several effective ways of retrieving individual records or browsing
sets of records.
Simple Search
The simple search allows you to enter one or more words and search for any of these
words within a field, in any record.
|
More specific? |
You can make this search more specific by using the drop down menu and searching
by all of these words or exact phrase.
Or go to the advanced search screen.
|
Advanced Search
There is a link on the first page of RADAR to the advanced search page
or after completing a simple search, an advanced search screen will appear with
your results.
An advanced search allows you to restrict your search term to a specific field such
as title, researcher, institution or keyword. You can further narrow your search
by choosing to search only “ongoing” or “completed” projects.
If you wish to search using Boolean logic this is also available. Simply tick the
box marked “Boolean search” and an additional search box will appear. Enter a word
into each of the search dialog boxes and click “Search”. This will search for both
words in the fields you have chosen, linking them with an “and” (you can also choose
to link with an “or”).
Browse by subject
All records are indexed and can be browsed under some selected subject headings.
Click on “browse by subject” and then choose a broad subject from the list. The
records under this broad heading will be displayed but you will also get additional,
alternative narrower headings to choose from too.
If you are having any difficulty searching or would like more information please
do not hesitate to contact the RADAR team
at the National Resource Centre, Alcohol and other Drugs Council of Australia.
The subject searching/indexing is powered by Textpert.
